Like speed dating but for networking! Pairs have 2-3 minutes to chat before rotating. Great for events with many strangers.
Arrange chairs in two rows facing each other (or have people stand in two lines facing each other).
Pair up the people across from each other.
Set a timer for 2-3 minutes.
Pairs introduce themselves and chat. Optionally provide a question prompt for each round.
When the timer rings, one row shifts down one position (the person at the end loops to the beginning).
Repeat for 8-15 rounds depending on group size and available time.
Provide conversation starter questions for groups that might struggle (e.g., "What's the most interesting project you're working on?").
Use a fun sound or music to signal rotation.
For professional events, encourage exchanging contact information during each round.
Themed Rounds: Each round has a different question theme.
Group Speed Networking: Groups of 3-4 instead of pairs, with 5-minute rounds.
Virtual Speed Networking: Use Zoom breakout rooms with automatic rotation.
Each person draws a paper divided into four squares: Past Achievement, Current Life, Future Dream, and a Wild Card topic. Then share with a partner or group.
Players are given two options to choose between and must pick one. Great for sparking debate and learning about each other's preferences and values.
One person sits in the "hot seat" and the group asks them questions for 2-3 minutes. A rapid-fire way to get to know someone.
