Two teams face each other with a blanket between them. Each team sends one person to the blanket. When it drops, the first person to shout the other's name wins that round.
A large blanket or sheet
Split the group into two teams on opposite sides of a blanket held up by two volunteers.
Each team silently selects one person to approach the blanket.
The selected players crouch or stand right behind the blanket.
On the count of three, the blanket holders drop the blanket.
The first of the two players to correctly shout the other person's name wins the round. The losing player joins the winning team.
The game continues until one team has all (or most) players.
Play a round of the Name Game first so everyone has heard each other's names.
Keep the pace fast — don't let teams deliberate too long before sending someone.
Works great after a standard name game to reinforce the names learned.
Costume Version: Give the person behind the blanket a silly hat or prop — they must still be recognized.
Fact Version: Instead of names, players must shout a fact about the other person.
A classic icebreaker where each person introduces themselves with an adjective that starts with the same letter as their name. Each subsequent person must repeat all previous names.
Each person shares three statements about themselves — two true and one false. The group tries to guess which one is the lie.
Players mingle with a bingo card of characteristics (e.g., "has traveled to 3+ countries") and must find people matching each square to get a bingo.
